A few days ago, I thought that I had a problem with my tape recorder. It was setting on my Amazon, Rocky's cage and the volume kept going higher and lower. Of course, I realized that it must be my crazy Amazon doing this and peeked my head into the room. I thought that I would find my little sweetheart chewing up my tape player, but instead, he was sitting quietly on the opposite side of the cage, eating a Granola bar.
I thought that maybe my ears had deceived me, so I went back into my room. As soon as the volume changed, I jumped up and went to the door. When I looked in though, there was the most innocent looking Amazon I had ever seen. He looked right at me, said "Oh, hello", then continued munching on the Granola bar.
Now, this was getting weird. I went to sit down in my room again, when suddenly, the music stopped. I went back into the room and turned the tape player on again -- my innocent Amazon watching me the whole time. When I looked at Rocky, I noticed that he was a little closer to the tape recorder. When I left this time, I only pretended to leave. I left the door open a crack and watched my little birdy, with a Granola bar in his mouth, run over to the tape recorder, and quickly press all the buttons until it shut off. Then, as he saw me open the door, he quickly whipped his head around and pretended to munch on his granola. I turned it on again and peeked through the crack. As he reached for the tape recorder, I quickly opened the door, but his beak still made it to the Granola bar before the door was opened. It was so funny, that I didn't scold him.
Just think, my Amazon had outsmarted me yet again. I wonder what he'll do to me tomorrow.
