Our March speaker will be Jaime Halupka, Naturalist/Volunteer Coordinator, Education Department, Bergen County (Van Saun Park) Zoo.

“I plan to speak about feathers. I would like to take the time to cover this amazing adaptation in detail.  I will cover aspects of feather structure, color, function and diversity.  I hope my talk will give everyone a deeper appreciation and sense of wonder for this truly remarkable adaptation - unique to birds.”

“For the past four years I have worked as the naturalist / volunteer coordinator at the Bergen County Zoo.  Prior to this, I worked for four years at the Bronx Zoo - in their education department as well as their tractable animal department. I have attended numerous conferences / workshops on bird conservation and behavior.”
