Our guest speaker for July, 2007 is Dr. Todd Wolf, who will speak on Physiology of Pet Birds.
Dr. Todd Wolf is originally a native of Boca Raton, Fl. In the early-mid eighties, when he was in his late teens-early twenties, Dr. Wolf worked in the exotic bird pet trade at one of the first pet stores to specialize only in exotic, hand fed birds. He was involved in all aspects of the business, including breeding, hand feeding, and importing. After that he went to veterinary school at Ross University, graduating in 1992, and then worked for a short time at the Oklahoma City Zoo. From there, he completed an
internship in Akron, Ohio studying small animal medicine and surgery. During the internship Dr. wolf spent his free time working at the Akron City Zoo, and also at both the Cleveland Zoo, and Sea World Ohio.
After completing his internship, Dr. Wolf moved to New Jersey and worked for 5 years as a staff Emergency/Critical Care Veterinarian at the Animal Emergency & Referral Center in West Caldwell before opening his own full service veterinary practice in Parsippany in 1998. The facility, Companion Animal Hospital & Avian/Exotic Clinic, is a full service veterinary practice for dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, small mammals, reptiles, & amphibians of all kinds. Dr. Wolf is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, The Association of Reptile & Amphibian Veterinarians, and is a Board Certified Specialist in Canine & Feline Practice.
