Our February 2008 speaker will be Steve Baldwin, friend to The Wild Parrots of Brooklyn and host of the BrooklynParrots.com web site.  The topic of his presentation will be “The Wild Parrots of New York and New Jersey”.  Steve will  give a multimedia presentation illustrating the strange tale of the wild Quaker Parrots which now inhabit New York, New Jersey, and other regions of the Northeast.

Steve Baldwin, 51, is a lifelong resident of New York who's been studying the wild parrots that live in the region since 2005 and is now known informally as "The Birdman of Bay Ridge".  Steve is an accomplished photographer whose photos of the parrots have appeared in Birders World Magazine, The Washington Post, and New York Metro.  He lectures frequently at bird groups and his website, BrooklynParrots.com, is a favorite destination for wild parrot watchers.
