Bird Clubs of New Jersey Updates
Bird Clubs of New Jersey is a coalition of the following parrot clubs:
The purpose of this group is to act as a liaison between the member clubs and The NJ State Division of Fish, Game & Wildlife which regulates the possession of "exotics" kept as pets. We will also act as a legislative watchdog to protect the interests and rights of exotic bird owners and their birds throughout the state. We encourage all clubs in the state or those clubs out of state with members from New Jersey to become part of this very important undertaking.
These are the points we would like to see addressed
We feel that if the above points are enacted more bird owners would comply with the regulations thus increasing the fees The NJ State Division of Fish, Game & Wildlife collects. As an added benefit we feel that more birds both large and small would be purchased in state instead of elsewhere putting more money into the state economy as well as into the state treasury. Everybody wins.
Although this group is based in New Jersey the environment that spawned the formation of this coalition has the potential to arise in other states. Therefore we encourage all US based clubs to form similar organizations.
